Dolce Vita Beaute skincare clinic has joined the WORSHIPP Campaign by honouring paediatrician and pioneering medical researcher Dr Sarah Barlow with a treatment room dedication at its salon in Newtown, Sydney.
Sarah lost her two-year fight with colon cancer in 2021. But before she died aged just 37 she established the Dr Sarah Barlow Bowel Cancer Foundation to fund research into early diagnosis and treatment for young adults with bowel cancer.
Sarah’s mission was to prevent others her age from suffering a similar fate because there’s no screening or diagnostic process for young adults with colon cancer who have yet to show any symptoms.
Dolce Vita Beaute owner and manager Kate Fontes said she joined the WORSHIPP Campaign by dedicating a treatment room to Sarah because “she was so much more than a loyal client”.
“Sarah stood out because of her vibrant personality and presence, her poise and her pearls. She was also brilliant and brave and she dedicated the last two years of her too-short life to saving others and trying to curb colon cancer.
“We all miss her greatly but with the room dedication in our salon she’ll always be remembered and celebrated.”
Fontes said her business joined the WORSHIPP Campaign because it resonated deeply with the Dolce Vita Beaute team. “After losing Sarah in 2021, we’ve been driven to create a lasting tribute to her memory at the salon,” Fontes said. “When we discovered WORSHIPP, we knew it was the perfect fit. The facial room dedication will serve as a permanent reminder of Sarah’s impact, allowing our team to honour her legacy daily. By sharing her story and speaking her name, we will keep her spirit alive, ensuring her memory continues to inspire and uplift those around her.”
